Georgie Porgies provides high quality childcare for children 6 weeks to 11years old in a warm loving home-from-home environment. We are situated just off the London Road between Hadleigh and Leigh on Sea, Essex in a beautiful Georgian Building. This location offers parents proximity to the local train stations for commuting to London and easy access for road commuters. We have an open door policy allowing prospective parents to view the nursery when it suits them.
As one of our aims is to ensure the children feel happy, safe and secure and above all want to come to our nursery,we offer settling-in sessions for each child where they can visit the nursery with their parents before they are due to start with us. Each session is slightly longer than the last allowing your child to become familiar with their new surroundings and also provides that parents have time to become used to being away from their child.
All staff receive guidance from the Early Years Foundation Stages framework to ensure that children from 0-5 get the experiences and close relationships needed to gain life long skills. Research shows the importance of childrens early experiences and how adults play a big part in supporting this. Information regarding the EYFS will be explained on joining the nursery in your induction. We endeavour to treat every child as an individual and we will match their development with their needs, all planning is now based around the individual child through observations, knowledge and assessment. We strongly believe no child should be pushed beyond their ability but progress naturally from play to learning.
We pride ourselves on having strong parent/carer relationships and are happy to take the time to speak to parents about their child. We are also happy for parents to phone throughout the day to find out about their child's day and to be re-assured.
Every child in the nursery has a keyworker. This will be a carer who is with your child for the majority of the time they are at nursery. Although your child's care requirements will not be the sole responsibility of the keyworker, they will be responsible for ensuring that your child is happy & thriving whilst in nursery, writing regular progress reports, development records and is a person whom you can speak to in confidence at any time.
